Time-Release Messages Explained
One of the most meaningful features within Bequeath is the ability to create time-release messages.
These messages are written, recorded, or filmed today but are delivered in the future, after you have passed away. They allow you to still show up in the lives of your loved ones on meaningful dates or during major life moments.
Instead of your story ending when you pass away, your words can continue arriving exactly when they matter most.
Bequeath offers two types of time-release messages:
360 Messages: delivered on a specific date within the first year after your passing
Moment Messages: released when a major life milestone occurs
Both can be created as letters, audio messages, or videos and stored securely in your vault until the right time.
360 Messages
A 360 Message is a message scheduled to be delivered on a specific date after you have passed away. They allow you to still appear in the lives of your loved ones during the first year after your passing, often the time when people feel your absence most deeply.
For example:
A message to your spouse on your wedding anniversary
A birthday message to your child
A Christmas message to your family
A note to a friend on a special shared tradition
360 Messages can be scheduled for any specific date up to 365 days after your passing. Imagine a son receiving a birthday video from his mother on his first birthday after she passes, opening a message she recorded specifically for that day.
How 360 Messages Work:
You create a message inside your Bequeath Treasure Vault under 360 Messages.
You choose the recipient.
You select a specific date for delivery.
After your passing is confirmed, the message is released on that date.
The recipient receives an email notification and can open the message inside their Bequeath access.
Moment Messages
Moment Messages are time-release messages that are opened when a specific life milestone happens. Unlike 360 Messages, these are not tied to a calendar date. Instead, they are linked to an important life event in the recipient’s life.
For example:
A message for your child on their wedding day
A message for a loved one on the birth of their child
Words of advice for a grandchild when they graduate
A message to be opened when someone becomes a parent
These messages can be opened many years after you pass away, waiting quietly until the moment they were meant for.
How Moment Messages Work:
You create the message in your Bequeath Treasure Vault under Moment Messages..
You assign the recipient.
You choose the life moment trigger
After your passing, the message remains sealed until that moment occurs.
When the moment arrives, the recipient can open the message that you prepared specifically for that milestone.
Why Time-Release Messages Matter
Most people leave behind documents, photographs, or possessions but few leave behind future moments of connection.
Time-release messages make it possible to:
Speak into your loved ones’ lives after you are gone
Celebrate milestones with them
Offer encouragement during important moments
Ensure your voice, story, and love continue forward
Bequeath is designed to preserve not only the practical parts of life, but the emotional ones too with the stories, messages, and memories that help loved ones feel connected long into the future.
